Designing a GT40 concept car to celebrate Ford's centennial was a great idea. But even gutsier was the decision to the take the giant step and design the street-legal Ford GT. The production version of the GT was unveiled the fall of 2004. The two-seat, high-performance supercar became the flagship of the Ford brand. In production, it is a prized automotive possession - a true Living Legend.

This is a hand built car from top to bottom. The supercharged 5.4 liter, V-8 engine is a trusted all-aluminum with four-valve heads, forged crankshaft, H-beam forged connecting rods and aluminum pistons fed by a Lysholm screw-type supercharger. The unit produces 550 horsepower with 500 ft. lbs. of torque. It churns out a swift time that is 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds, 100 mph in third gear, and a top speed well over 200 mph. The transmission is a 6-speed Ricardo manual shift.

Ford will only build 3500 of these limited-production models through the year 2007 and then it will be over. For dealerships to be allocated one of these monsters they had to qualify through three different venues. Mega dealers, Presidential Award winners, and a lottery for the remaining few. There are 4200 dealers nationwide and most mega dealers will be allotted more than 1. Many dealers are stating that they are going to keep their allotment for themselves meaning there will be precious few for the general public. MSRP was $159,995.

We were one of the lucky few to be a recipient of the phenominal Ford GT. In July of 2005, we recieved our Pace Car and hosted an open house. Over 500 People came by our dealership those two days before the proud owner took possession.
